BIOGRAPHY
Laura Friedlander has been shooting photos for more than 25-years. She concentrates on portraits, still life and nature. Her style is candid and close up - using exclusively natural light and natural settings. Her work is shot on location and has a very realistic and authentic feel. She shoots with a variety of film: black and white, color, digital, and analog.
The signature of Laura's business involves a "day-in the life shoot" following a family through routine activities and mounting the shots in a keepsake book.
Laura's other commercial work includes family life events, plus hired newspaper and magazine work. Laura's photography has appeared in several publications, including: The Sun, Living Without Magazine, and the Pioneer Press. She's also exhibited in the following shows: Blink 2001, Wilmette Public Library Group Show, The Evanston Art Center Student Exhibit, and as a solo-artist at a local bakery for the last several years.
In May, 2005 she mounted her first one-woman show, a retrospective of her work, at the Wilmette Public Library.
When she's not taking photos, Laura takes care of her three daughters, one pre-school class and works part time as a doula.
